The Client: Staffing Associates, Inc.

About the Client

Staffing Associates is a large Staffing company with their home office in Spartanburg, SC. They also have a remote office in Gaffney, SC as well. Ruby Cromer, the owner of Staffing Associates also owns or partners with four other companies that is located in Spartanburg, SC. This includes Viper Precision and Tools, Proactive Concepts, and Carolina Resource Connexion. Ruby has been in business for a period of 12 years, and has 35 direct employees that work in the four companies. She also is involved in real estate or home rental and a small construction company.

The Challenge

The biggest problem that Ruby faces is that it was hard for her to manage all of her companies in an effective manner. Everything was separate and was being run in a very ineffective manner. Plus prior to using RTS’s services she used a few different consulting firms. The problems she faces was that they were not responsive and took forever to resolve her problems, they also was just a break/fix company and could not take the time to truly learn her business model, and how they could keep revenue in their business, while getting quality services. When they would come onsite they would simply supply a “band-aid” fix, for the problem to never really look at the root cause of their problems, plus it would take them forever to resolve the problem creating unpredictable monthly invoicing. Employee’s and management dreaded the technicians coming onsite because they were already having a problem, so they were losing revenue or communicating with their customer effectively, they were not very friendly almost arrogant, and disrupt operations while they were there, plus when they would band-aid fix one thing, they often would break something else and leave before the customer realized it was broke.

The Solution

RTS setup Staffing Associates and all of Ruby’s other companies on the Level 5 Complete Care plan. RTS put safeguards in place to assist with virus, spyware, intrusion detection, disaster recovery backup, and spam. RTS developed a more proactively way of managing all of their customers. RTS setup a VPN between all of her companies, and consolidated servers so that it would be more practical and cost effective. RTS put them in contact with various trusted vendors that would be able to assist and save her revenue, this included a telecommunications company, Laser Services, Mahrt Communications, Vow Inc, Greenville Office Supply, and VTS Security. RTS also had them replace all the small deskjet printers on all the desks and setup a few laser printers at each location to save revenue.

Result

By Staffing Associates going with our recommendations and our services we have been able to cut downtime out by 95%, we are able to schedule times that are feasible to do nightly maintenance, with them changing telecommunications company they reduced their monthly bill by about $2000 per month, they save about 50% on office supplies, and have drastically reduced their prices on ink cartridges. Not to mention with them going with our complete care plan, they now have a budgeted predictable technology support team that understands their system and has their best interest at heart. We have improved response time and employees actually look forward to seeing us. They love the fact that we proactively manage their system and if we notice a problem we will correct the problem before they even knew there was a problem. Ruby and her staff can rest assure that her problems are being handled proactively.
